Your hosts, Bob & Irene Skupham, daughters Hannah and Jessica and all our loyal staff, welcome you to our little Pub here in the lovely village of Old Glossop, (the Gateway to the High Peak)

It is our intention to bring to your tables good, honest, home-cooked food using local suppliers wherever possible. We work closely with Mettricks butchers, Sowerbutts greengrocers and Praze Fine Foods in Glossop, our fishmonger Tony delivers fresh fish to us twice a week.
All our suppliers provide us with not only excellent produce but excellent service and expertise.

All the pastries and batters for our pies and puddings are hand made from scratch and of course we serve fresh home cut chips, (not frozen!).

Please note that we do not have a 'Children's Menu' offering children's 'processed' style food but we are able to cook many of our meals in a smaller portion.

Myth tells us that this Loin steak was 'Knighted' by a King gone by and became

'Barnsley' Lamb Chops
A pair of double lamb loin chops grilled plain or basted with Bob's honey and mustard

We can cook this plain, with Cajun spices or basted with garlic butter and it can be

'Dark Peak Sausage'
Winner of the 'Best Pub Sausage of the Year 2010'
Our own recipe sausages are made for us by Mettricks using their award winning
'Old English' recipe with the addition of Howardtown Brewery's 'Dark Peak Ale',
we serve them with plain, 'mustard' or 'garlic' flavoured mashed potato and a rich
